MathIT.Logistics, developed by qosITconsulting, has been designed for the integral planning of road logistic tasks. The base problem is a multi-objective, periodic, pick-and-delivery, multi-trip vehicle routing problem with time windows subject to a large set of operating constraints. Regarding the objective functions, the company is able to select one among the total cost, the level of service and the profitability, subject to a fixed number of operational constraints.
A new powerful GRASP algorithm that builds feasible solutions in an initial phase, using cluster-first route-second strategies, that are subsequently improved by a large set of local searches for each objective function is proposed. The algorithm provides the best solution found, including the complete expected schedule and the suitable moment for the break of the drivers for the five weekdays. Thus, the proposed solution becomes in an integral solution for the plant helping operations managers in their day-to-day work.
