Substrate concentration is one of the most important factors which determine the velocity of enzyme reactions. The enzyme first forms a complex with its substrate and this subsequently breaks down giving the free enzyme and the products of the reaction. In high substrate concentration two models can be fitted to describe the reaction velocity.
Optimal designs for these two models are presented and illustrated by examples.
